Netherlands frames defence strategy to 2035
The Netherlands MoD on 15 October released its Defence Vision 2035, as a transformational effort to create smart, high-tech and reliable armed forces.
Defence Vision lays out ten 'design principles' to be adhered to, in order to modernise the Dutch military and improve its equipment inventory.
Among the principles are measures to attract specialised personnel, improve partnerships with EU, NATO and UN, stimulate innovative capacity and procure strategic capabilities.
The MoD stressed that it is committed to implementing the priorities in Defence Vision 2035, regardless of the Dutch defence budget. Yet this would require extra investment of €13 billion to €17 billion ($15.38
